It has been a personal goal of mine to learn a new language for as long as I can remember. Recently, some of my friends and I decided to plan a cross-country trip to Europe in just over a year's time, and one of the places we hope to visit is Greece. It is important to us that we become comfortable in speaking basic levels (as a minimum)of the countries we visit, and Greek was an easy choice for me to want to learn as I already had an interest in this language.
I am a beginner, knowing only a couple of basic phrases and expressions. I will take improvement in any and all areas, but initially I would like to become better at conversationa l Greek.
I would be willing to donate a couple of hours a week to learning, as I would like to become as proficient as possible before our trip.
It is essential to me that teachers be willing to give their lessons online, as it is likely I live too far away for in-person lessons. The size of the class does not matter to me, although I would prefer having smaller classes so that the teachers can spend more time helping the students.

I live in Hong Kong with my family including my three young children: boy 7 years, boy almost 6 years and girl 3.5 years. All of them learn Mandarin at school. I will be spending the summer in Waterloo for 8 weeks from June 2012 to August 2012. I am looking for someone to spend some time each week with my children speaking, playing, singing Mandarin with them. They love practicing their Chinese characters so any work on recognizing the characters would also be useful.
