We are a language school specialized for teaching Croatian as a second language since 2011. All of our teachers are native speakers with university language degrees.
Our lessons are highly individualize d. We use pre-made materials as a “spine” for structured learning, adapted to the individual needs of each student.
We cater for:
- students who are complete beginners
- students who have Croatian background and have picked up quite a lot of vocabulary, but struggle with grammar
- students who want to learn enough Croatian to be able to have simple conversations during their holidays in Croatia
- students who want to learn advanced Croatian to be able to live in Croatia
- students who want light and easygoing lessons
- students who want serious grammar drill

Every program must meet the learner's ability to adopt new language skills in "easy to remember" way. Not everyone is available to learn one thing the same way or by the same speed. Some need more practice while some learn as fast as a sponge absorbs the water.. and this all depends of the person if he/she is mathematic type of person, or as I call it "travelling type of person". As the first group learns subjects like maths or physics much easier, they might be having slight problems with learning new languages where there's no a 'specific mathematic formula'. This is not a rule, but it is noticed as being frequent.. And the "travelling" types of persons absorb subjects like geography, history and related subjects easier, and this also means they learn a foreign language faster.. and this is the first thing I noticed with my students;

In the first lesson - we get to know. That way, I can see what are your strengths and weaknesses - based on that, with your cooperation, I develop further lesson plans. As for myself, I am a teacher of English as a second language, specialized for primary school. Currently, I am teaching 5 students in Croatia (ages 9 - 18) the English language and one student the Croatian language. Most of my students say: "You could not possibly be a teacher - teachers are never that amusing and friendly." I am definitely not a traditional teacher, because my lessons are entertaining, yet educational. |
