I am learning Mandarin for career advancement, travel purposes, and personal interest.
I believe that I am an intermediate student, because I have studied Mandarin for 3 years at Queen's University (reading, writing, speaking).
I feel that I need particular improvement in conversationa l Mandarin, as my speach (speed, pronounciatio n) is the weakest (behing reading and writing).
I would like to dedicate 1 hour/week of instruction, but I can put in 2 additional hours per week of personal study/homewor k.
I am looking for a teacher that has experience teaching mandarin to adults as a second language, can adapt lessons to business conversation, and has unique activities to improve my speach.

I want to study French 'cause I planning to move to Montreal and work. I studied Modern Languages in my country, Colombia. But I didn't have opportunities to practice French so I've forgot the grammar and have to improve the pronunciation . I have some listening and reading skills. I'm working during the day and also taking English evening classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I wish to further my French language for government job opportunities . I use to be bilingual, but I lost most of my French since graduating high school, and not having spoken to my French relatives for some time. I am able to carry a basic conversation in French, but am lacking proper grammar and writing skills in French. I am willing to spend 2-3 days a week learning lessons. The qualities I am looking for in a teacher is someone who has French as their first language, and is very patient. I want them to challenge me and focus on teaching me advanced conversation skills as well as to teach me how to write in proper French. I am sure I will be able to become fluent again in a short amount of time.
