Description |
I wish to learn Japanese in hopes to visit Japan and truly be able experience all there is to offer. Japanese culture fascinates me and being able to experience it first hand would be an incredible experience. My experience with the Japanese language is pretty minimal. I need improvement in all areas of the language due to my inexperience. I am willing to dedicate 1-2 hours a week to one-on-one study. The teacher I am looking for is some one willing to not just teach the language but some background as well and mannerisms and culture in Japan.

Description |
I'm looking to learn Japanese through formal classes for my own personal development. I have always had an interest with the Japanese language and culture, and have recently returned from a trip to Japan. I've picked up some very very basic (broken) conversation skills from watching some shows and anime as a younger person, and am looking to do a more hands on approach to accelerate my learning.

- I want to learn Japanese because I am majoring in International Business - I am taking my first Japanese course at Grant MacEwan - I keep up with all my homework, I would just like extra practice for verbal communication and interaction, so I can get a better understanding and memory when I can put into context. - I would like to dedicate at least one hour intervals, two days a week if possible - I am looking for a teacher to help practice communication phrases that I have been learning in class and extra tips on memorization or practices I can do on my own

Description |
Hello,
This last spring I had the opportunity to visit Japan. I would like to go back for an extended period of time next time. I should have studied the language first before going, but for next time I will be more prepared.
My Goals: I would like to become proficient and then fluent in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and writing the language. I need practice and I need a bit of direction since on this language I have been using books and CD's to study it since coming back.
My Background: I am very interested in languages and alphabets, with Japanese I will get to cover both of those interests. I learned English as a very young child to which it should be called my native language because of the level of proficiency, my German is very basic and I am not very good at it at all. I am fluent in Spanish which I learned as an adult while living in Central America from 1990 till 92, as such I have a good grasp of most of the Romance languages and would like to branch out into non Indo European now.
Profi ciency: Beginner level Japanese

Description |
Hmm...to start off, I'm 12 years old (turning 13 in November). I know 2 languages: English and Spanish. I am absolutely fluent in English (even though it's my second language) and I'm in the Spanish program via ECS. And I really want to learn Japanese. I've been obsessed with Japanese animation ever since I was 8 years old, am quite interested and attached to Japanese culture and history and most people in my family know multiple languages. So I want become an interpreter like my mother when I reach the adult age. I disgress, as I know some Katakana from online courses, but don't think it will be better for my potential growth as a learner, as I think private one-on-one courses will do the trick. I don't really mind how long the lessons are, but I'd at least want them to be no more than two hours and for the days and hours, we (my mentor and my mother) can work out together. And my mentor can be either male or female, I don't really mind as long as they're friendly and patient with me, as I am quite mature for my age, independent, and have a good, keen mermory.
( PS. Sorry if I have any typos on writing this letter and my mother gave me permission to let me put this up on your website.
P SS. I also want a mentor who lives in my city, 'cause we don't have Paypal or anything like that to pay for lessons overseas for a mentor.
Th ank you~
MJ.)
