I have been learning for a long time and also lived in Japan. I watch Japanese YouTube lessons or videos for about an hour most days. However, I suck! I want to improve my Japanese and speak it correctly. I'd like a teacher who speaks in only Japanese unless I ask for him/her to speak in English. ### My Language Learning Goals
* **Motivation for Learning**
I am primarily learning a new language to facilitate **career advancement** and open doors to international professional opportunities . In today’s globalized economy, being bilingual allows me to connect with a broader range of clients and understand different market perspectives more deeply.
* **Current Proficiency Level**
I am currently at the **beginner level**. While I may know a few basic phrases or isolated words, I am still working on the fundamental ability to construct original sentences and follow simple dialogues.
* **Areas for Improvement**
At this stage, I feel I need particular improvement in **conversatio n and listening comprehension **. While reading can be done at my own pace, the 'real-time' nature of speaking and understanding a native speaker is my biggest challenge. I also want to build a solid foundation in **basic grammar** to ensure I am speaking correctly from the start.
* **Time Commitment**
I intend to dedicate approximately **five to seven hours per week** to my language lessons. My goal is to strike a balance between formal instruction and independent practice, such as using apps or watching videos, to ensure consistent daily exposure.
* **Teacher and Lesson Qualities**
I am looking for a teacher who is **patient, encouraging, and highly interactive** . Since I am a beginner, it is important that the lessons include plenty of speaking practice and real-world scenarios rather than just repetitive drills. I value a structured curriculum that provides clear milestones so I can track my progress as I move toward fluency.
