I have an interest in learning japanese. This stems from my interest in both japanese movies and anime. I also have a heavy interest in japanese music which would be nice to understand without having to look it up. I have taken an entry level japanese night class and have done alittle bit of self study, But I am definitly a beginner. At the moment I am working up north at a camp job. I am looking for someone to give me goals for self study and also help me where I am really struggling.

Description |
Hello, I am a University student taking beginner Japanese out of personal interest and possible use either in future careers or visiting Japan.
I am still a beginner but have some grasp of vocabulary and basic grammatical structure. I know the Hiragana and Katakana fairly well, and am starting on the Kanji characters. I basically need practice with conversation and clarifying and practice with the more specific grammatical elements (particles for example).
I am looking for someone to spend an hour or two every week to practice what I am learning, clarify any misunderstand ings, and learn anything else relevant. After my university course is done I may want to advance my Japanese language skills further.
I am easy to get along with and would like someone who is the same. Understanding is also key as I am nervous speaking a new language to a native speaker.

I am looking forward into my future as I progress through high school. However, I have come across the possibility of learning and attending a university in Japan, preferably the University of Tokyo. To my dismay, I found out that you need higher levels in Japanese to take some of the courses, and pass at a level 1 JLPT. I have become very fond of the idea of doing my career studies in Japan. I have obtained numerous Japanese language books for learners, and I am currently trying to cover the different verbs. I still haven't fully memorized the alphebet of Hiragana and Katakana, but I wish to become fluent in the language so I can fullfill my aspiritions to study in Japan. Considering how little time I do have until I graduate highschool, approximatley 1 1/2 years, I'd like to learn as quickly as I can . I don't mind spending 2 hours a week with a teacher along with my own studying I have been doing every night . I'm looking for a teacher who is patient, and knows what they are talking about well. A teacher that I can trust to get me to the point of fluency I desire . They must be very approachable because I am quite shy, and a good sense of humour never hurts .
