• Greet friends and meet people
• Shop for basic necessities
• Make and receive telephone calls
• Make inquiries about people, places and things
• Exchange basic, personal information
• Ask for and understand simple directions
Performance Evaluation
U pon request, students’ progress will be evaluated through the administratio n of an oral proficiency interview. This assessment will rate a student’s performance using the Professional' s Proficiency Guidelines. In order to receive a rating of Novice-Low, students must successfully handle real-life speaking tasks at the skill level described under Level I Objectives. Students who demonstrate an awareness of skills required at the next highest level may earn a rating of Novice-Mid.
