I was interested in finding a spanish teacher/ tutor offering private courses in the Raleigh/ Durham area. I am a college student needing to learn as much Spanish as possible. I am trying to move to Mexico in 2011/ 2012 and will need to be able to fluently speak spanish. I work and attend school full time and I know absolutely nothing in spanish. I will be moving with my fiance, who for business purposes has already gone, and will be living in Tampico, MX. All my family currently stays in California and his family is in Mexico, so there is no one close that I can learn from in the area. I am currently attending school for nursing and will need to speak, read, write, and understand spanish extremely well. There are classes I can take at school, but due to the nature of my work, I need to expedite my learning, and make 100% sure I am capable of understanding spanish because when I am a nurse in Mexico I can't afford to misunderstand a patient. I will not need medical terminology (specific course at school for that) but I will need to know a lot of basic spanish. I plan to start now and possibly keep the classes going until 2011/2012. I have taken high school, and five college classes, the most recent being conversationa l spanish at NC State. I am learning Spanish because I love it and I want to work with communities in Central and South America. I need help in conversation, especially understanding and comprehension , and also organizing of sentances when I talk. I am hoping to come at least once a week, maybe more through the month of Feb. I want someone who is not critical and obviously someone who is patient!

I want to maintain and improve my existing Spanish abilities while living in the US.
I would like to focus on advanced grammer, professional vocabulary, and commom native Spanish speakers' sayings and phrases.
I 'd prefer 45 minute - 1 hour lessons once a week and weekly homework assignments. I'd also prefer a classroom or group learning setting.
I 'd like lessons to be given primarily in Spanish with occassional English explanations. Teacher should be a native speaker and educated in Spanish language education or a graduate of similar university course work. Instructor should also be fluent in English.
