Good afternoon,
I grew up with Spanish speakers around me but I never actively learned Spanish. I also took 1 year of Spanish classes in high school.
I work as a cashier for a very popular Do-It-Yoursel f hardware store and probably 50% of our customers and employees speak Spanish.
In November 2022 my granddaughter began her first year of Spanish in high school and asked that I join her on a popular language learning app. I did, I have not missed one day on the app even if I only log in for one lesson. Most days I do practice a good half hour or more.
On the app I’m now at A2 level, my reading skills are fairly good but my pronunciation needs help as well as mine listening skills. My verb use is starting to get confusing but none of that has stopped me yet.
I want to be able to communicate with all of my customers and fellow employees, in addition to the strengthening my brain cells and neuro pathways.
I can’t afford a lot each month for lessons but I do understand that teachers need to be and should be paid for their services.
The ideal teacher will have patience, sense of humor and the skills to communicate effectively.

Hi. I am a very new beginner. I want to learn the Spanish language and am currently using Rosetta Stone. I've only just started. So consider me as a very, very beginner!!! In order to keep me motivated and on track, I think it would be beneficial for me to utilize a Spanish tutor, workbooks, etc. in conjunction with Rosetta Stone. I am a retired, empty nester so I could spend approximately two hours a day working on this. My other hobby/interes t is photography and I spend a great part of my day working on that career as well. I am serious about learning Spanish. Thank you.

Saludos.
I would like a weekly lesson of an hour to two hours of Spanish private tutoring in my home in Denver Colorado. I am willing to pay $20.00 per hour for each lesson. I want to be able to read Spanish writing and poetry in the original, to speak reasonably fluent Spanish and gain a deeper appreciation of the Spanish language.
I would like a native speaker from Spain, Mexico, or Central or South America with a good accent, who has an enthusiasm for Spanish literature music and poetry. I have a haphazard grasp of Spanish, which means that I can read and understand normal Spanish with some help from my dictionary, but I would be very happy if these lessons help me to attain conversationa l and writing fluency in this lifetime if that happens to be possible.
I would like a tutor who can find a good balance of structure and fun, meaning someone who can integrate a lesson plan of grammar and fluency skills with Spanish short stories, music, magazine or newspaper articles, poetry and other aspects of Spanish culture. I consider a kind, pleasant and easy going temperament in a teacher a big plus. I would prefer an older teacher to a younger one, but this is only a preference and not an absolute requirement.
I live 10 to 15 minutes North of downtown Denver.
I have a dog, so I hope you are not allergic to them.
I would prefer afternoon or evening lessons as I am not an early riser.
I am a 57 year old retired employee of the state of Colorado. I was born and raised in Sri Lanka, and English is my first language.
