Description	I want to learn ASL for my own personal enrichment, and I am also considering a career as a sign language interpreter. I have taken 2 ASL classes, one at my workplace taught by a deaf teacher from Gallaudet, and another at Arlington Adult Education. In the first class, we finished the first 8 chapters of Learning American Sign Language (Humphries and Padden). The second class was less formal, and while it helped with my comprehension , I didn't get as much practice with signing myself. My main goal is to improve my grammar and conversation skills. I also want to learn mouth morphemes and ASL idioms. I am planning to take a class at Gallaudet this summer - a 2-week accelerated class, and I would like to have enough ASL knowledge to be able to take ASL 3 or 4 by then. I was thinking of spending an hour or two per week on lessons. I have 3 deaf co-workers so I will also be able to practice with them. I prefer to have structured, planned lessons, based either on a textbook or the teacher's own materials.
