Having a dutch mum and a family living in Netherlands motivates me to learn the language. I am looking to increase my knowledge and ability to hold conversations with others in dutch. In the long term I would like to spend more time in Holland and maybe live there for a while. I probably can understand more dutch then being able to speak it, but what I know is only the basics.
Ideally I would love be set a program that I need to follow, with also being able to sit down one on one with a teacher each week to practice conversation and apply practically what I have learnt and to have someone to monitor my progress and to challenge me.
A typical teacher I would like to find is a person that is easy to communicate with, has experience tutoring and having success with what they do and someone who is supportive in helping me to learn dutch.

I am 52 years young and I was born in Australia from Dutch Immigrant Parents who spoke Dutch to me for many years. I always used English to reply but understood the spoken language quite well. My parents died quite a long time ago and I havn't been exposed to Dutch since. At the time I also recognised some written language also but have no practice at actually writing the language myself. I am looking for lessons so that I may begin to recall what dutch probably remains in the back of my memory and add some grammer and reading and writing skills
