I am an actor/teacher who has learned German French and Spanish quite well. I have always enjoyed the Yiddish dialects and words I have come across and would like to extend my knowledge to include history and culture.
I learn fast and would like to be in a small class if possible somewhere near the centre of the CBD in Melbourne.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am looking for someone to teach me Yiddish as I have done some family history & found that my great, great, grandfather was a yiddish speaking person who was a Russian Pole. He was the treasurer of the Perth Hebrew Cogregation in the 1920's and I would like to know some grammar & conversation. I'm not sure if I need to learn some Hebrew as well. I know that he was fluent with the Hebrew language also. Some of my relatives went to Israel. I might like to visit there at some stage. I would like to go to G/G Grandfather's home town - but not to practise the language, as there are hardly any Jews left in Filipowo - in Suwalki in Poland.
Not sure how much time per week I need to dedicate to this.
Qualit ies in a teacher required- to be creative & modern but also know traditions of 'proper' language & pronunciation & proper grammar.
