I have taken Sign Language 101 at the Community College of Philadelphia. When I signed up for 102 my class ended up being canceled (there was not enough people in it), so I am looking for another way to learn. I have a grasp on the bear essentials of the language, and have been signing for many years, but know bits and pieces, so I am trying to make these peaces into something whole. I am a hearing and speaking person. I would like to learn in a group setting if possible.

I have never learned sign language before (other than memorizing the signing alphabet when I was little, but that doesn't really count). I am not deaf, but I have a good friend who is, and I'd like to learn sign language so I will be able to sign with her and with other deaf members of my community. I'll dedicate as much time as needed to learning, as long as I can continue to improve. I'd like a teacher who is fun and outgoing, so he/she will be able to laugh with me when I make silly errors, but be serious in helping my progress. I'm open to taking a class with multiple students or doing one-on-one, as long as classes are taught in person.

My wife and I need to learn sign language because our son's hearing impairment is getting progressively worse. We are beginners in sign language and need evening classes (5p.m. or later.)We would like to attend classes in the Norhteast section of Philadelphia, but will travel to any location nearest our home.
