I am a beginning level learner of Portuguese. I am a native English speaker, fluent in Spanish and able to read and moderately understand Portuguese. I want to gain conversationa l fluency in Portuguese for business and social purposes over the next year while living in Mexico City. I am currently at a beginning level of speaking Portuguese. I have purchased the 'Teach yourself Portuguese' Book and CDs to help me. I have also purchased a grammar and a '501 verb' book to assist with my endeavor. I can dedicate three to five hours per week on Portuguese lessons. I need some assistance in learning to improve my conversationa l skills. Right now, I understand a few words that are spoken to me and I need to improve that, as well as my pronunciation .

W e, (my wife and I) are going to be moving to Mozambique and the spoken language is Portuguese.
We need to learn all areas of the language particularly conversation.

-I have studied Portuguese independently for about 2 years now, on and off. I spent one month in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil Summer 06'. There, my Portuguese improved dramatically! I am still very interested in persuing Portuguese, and hope to master the language quickly, and with little difficulty.
-I have always been done very well learning new languages. I speak fluent Spanish as well, and feel I have an ear for new languages, speaking tiny bits of other languages.
- I need particular help in verb development, with specific focus on appropraite conjugation in different tenses.
-I am willing to dedicate anywhere from one to two hours at a time to my language lessons.
-I am looking for a friendly, open teacher. Someone who is either native to Brasil or has spent time there, and is thus culturally savvy. Flexibility is also a plus.
