I am an absolute beginner (however, I have A-level Urdu and have studied Arabic, so I do not anticipate a problem with writing the script).
I want to learn because I am fascinated by the Persian culture (poetry, folklore, music, film - everything really!)and would love to visit Iran. I have met quite a few Persians and have always got on well with them - maybe I was one in a past life.
I was thinking of maybe 2 hours per week of lessons.
As to the qualities I'm looking for in a teacher - enthusiasm for their subject; preferably a knowledge of modern techniques such as Accelerated Learning; an ability to quickly get me thinking and conversing in the language, even to the point of dreaming in it; a sense of humour.
