I travelled to Iran three years ago and have since become facsinated with their wonderful culture, history and food. I am currently finishing my degree in Ancient History and plan to go back to Iran sometime in the next few months to travel extensively and hopefully learn to speak Farsi to a reasonable level. I know a few words of Persian here and there, but would like to be able to have actual conversations with people.

I want to learn Dari to be able to have a closer relationship with my family-in-law . (My husband and his family are Afghan.) I speak with him in English, but I would really like to be able to communicate more with his parents, and also to be able to understand as he teaches our future children Dari.
I am a complete beginner - I just know a handful of words, but I'm very enthusiastic! I studied languages at university so am naturally interested in learning a new language.
Ideally, I'd probably like one class a week, but could dedicate time every day to practicing either on my own or with my husband.
I 'm looking for a teacher who doesn't mind me asking questions about pronunciation (for example, I'm keen to get the emphasis on the right syllable in a word), who is friendly and encouraging.

I have been taking Persian classes at SOAS for two terms and want a more personal/one to one focus to improve my speaking.
I hope to spend time working in Iran from September/Oct ober this year.
The main focus would be for conversation.
