I am moving to Calgary starting in September and I would like to find a teacher or school which teaches Swahili. I am only just beginning but will be traveling to East Africa in the Summer of 2005 and would like to have basic proficiency. I will be studying as a graduate student but would still ike to dedicate abour 4 hours of teaching per week. i would really appreciate any help in locating a way for me to learn the language.

I would like to learn Swahili so I can speak it when I move to Africa.
I do not yet know any Swahili but have started to teach myself. However, I am not sure if I have the pronunciation or the structure of my sentences right.
I would love to meet someone who has either a similar interest in learning Swahili or would be able to tutor me in the language.

Beginner to moderate in Swahili. I lead photographic tours to Tanzania, and would like to become more proficient in not only the basics of Swahili, but also in the smaller nuances of the language from location to location. Conversationa l Swahili is my number one goal. I am extremely passionate about what I do and the people I meet in Tanzania, and I would like to have a tutor that also shares that passion for the Tanzanian people, so I would prefer for a teacher to be from Tanzania, if at all possible.
