My proficiency language
in Japanese is very much at a
beginner level. I only happen
to know a few phrases, mostly
as a result from movies, music,
and some friends. I would
like to learn Japanese as I
have an interest in the culture
and knowing another language
wou ld be nice. I feel I need
improve ment in most of the
areas as I am just a beginner.
Ho wever, I do seem to have a grasp
on pronunciation /sounds of Japanese
in a way. The amount of time I'm
willing to dedicate to my language
les sons may be once a week, for an
hour or so? If this does not seem
enough, please let me know as I
don't seem to know what exactly
is needed or required.
Th e qualities I'm looking for in
a teacher who is knowledgeable
in the language, who is patient,
and is willing/enthu siastic about
teachi ng. I hope this is not
too much to ask for. Please
let me know if you want to know more.

Dear Potential Teacher,
I am extremely interested in learning to fluently read, write, understand and speak Chinese (Mandarin).
My proficiency level is 0. (Absolute beginner!)
The reasons for which I desire to learn the language are mostly business related. I believe that China will be the next economic super power and do not want to be left behind. I also find the orient a fascinating place with much to offer and would love to take the opportunity to learn more about its culture and history as well. I've ordered a few books on China, which I should receive in a couple of weeks so that I can learn more about it in my spare time.
I would prefer if he/she would provide me with English/Chine se textbooks and work books that include audio CD's with authentic Mandarin speaking narration since tonal accuracy is very important to me and to learning the language. These I would use to practice and learn in addition to video conferencing. (I will pay for them, and the shipping of course!)

I am a beginner in Tagalog. Both of my parents are Filipino and fluent in Tagalog. Growing up in Canada, I was not receptive, nor interested in learning their native language and now I regret it. I find it embarassing to not know how to speak Tagalog, especially when I visit the Philippines and everyone assumes that I understand or speak the language.
I would like to be able to have a conversation in Tagalog and have good comprehension .
I am willing to commit to one lesson every week.
I am looking for a teacher who is flexible, practical, PATIENT and has a great sense of humor.
