I am a beginner who listens to Japanese Music (such as rock and pop from there) so I'm familiar with the general flow of the language. I've wanted to learn this for a very long time now but I've finally taken it upon myself to find a place where I can learn it. I plan on moving to Japan someday in the future, when I gather the money, and I'd love to be able to speak fluent or anywhere near fluent so I know what's going on around me. I do know very little Hiragana and very little Kanji as well. I have a small grasp on Japanese but I would much like to improve it. If you are willing and able to help me, please help!

I am very interested in learning the Japanese language, because I believe it's the first stepping stone into learning more about their culture. I have done some self study on my own, and even taken a college 110 course in Japanese language. I'd really like to work on foundation material, and get some face to face conversation time. I'd more than likely be interested in something weekly, however any and all exposure is good for learning! I'm really looking for a teacher who has spent time native in Japan, because I'm sure the culture questions will come non-stop.

My name is Eileen. My family is from the Dominican Republic. I love east asian languages and have been studying Japanese since I was fourteen. I hope to further myself in the Japanese language as well as delve into more east asian languages. I'm hoping to dedicate three hours a week with a private course as well as continue my independant study. I do well with grammar but need assistance with conversation and furthering the number of kanji I can read and write. I'm looking for an instructor whom can help me build confidence in speaking.

I started learning Japanese about 6 months ago on my own. I started with flashcards and have moved up to reference books and one free online lesson (unfortunatel y I'd have to pay for the other 48). I'm working on my characters and memorizing them and I'm working on vocab. I got into the Japanese culture because when I was about 5 or 6 a teacher from the northeast coast of Japan came and stayed with us. I really got to know her and she was a great person and I was so amazed by everything she brought that I knew that one day I had to go visit her, so that's kinda why I want to study the language, I want to show her how much I've learned since I met her and want to make her proud. I think the Japanese culture is amazing and Japanese is unlike any other language I've learned. I'm really dedicated to learning the language. Please help me. Arrigato gozaimasu.
