I am learning my foreign language because I have always been interested in Japan, I've always been fascinated by its people, culture and history, for which I've always wanted to learn the language a skill I wish to obtain not only for personal growth but for possible career advancement in the future and to open new doors. I happen to know a lot of words, but I need to learn how to actually speak and to write it so I would at the beginner level. I would dedicate a good amount of time on it, four or five times a week. The qualities I'm looking for in a teacher would be that he or she know a lot about what they teach and that they truly love what they teach and they truly wish for me to learn it.

i want to learn japanese because i have a great enjoyment of japanese culture. i watch japanese movies and play japanese games that have been translated into english. i have friends who live in japan. i know many local friends who speak japanese and who have visited japan.
i eventually intend to spend time in tokyo but i want to be very conversationa lly proficient first. so that is the area i would like to work on.
my level is very low. but i have some familiarity with sentence and word structure.
i would like to dedicate several hours per week to lessons. i am flexible.
i am a free in the evening.

I have been studying japanese since 2 years with a private tutor in France. I have been in japan last august to study japanese in Fukuoka.
I am relocating to Chicago for 6 months, starting in January, and I am looking for a teacher to continue to work my japanese. I am working using minna no nihongo, but I have the Genki books too. I am looking to practice speaking, reading (with kanji), writing and listening.
