I'm a student at NHCC, which doesn't offer Japanese language courses, so I'm looking for a tutor to help me improve my skills. I'm going to be majoring in Japanese Literature further on down the road, so I'm trying to get a solid foundation before I transfer to the University of MN.
Next summer, I'll be studying abroad in Beppu, Japan. I'd like to improve my skills to an intermediate level by the time I get there.
I'm looking for a tutor that can meet face to face, about once a week, until May 31st; my takeoff date.

I am looking for a tutor for the summer of 2011 and into the fall semester. I am a student attending university and I have recently completed Japanese I. I'm trying to become fluent in the language and I would like to start in June. My grammar, conversation and vocabulary are lacking. I plan on taking Japanese 2 or 3 at my institution in the spring of 2012 depending on how much I can learn in the summer and fall. I am currently using the book Japanese for busy people 1 (Romanized) and I would like to complete my studies with it before moving on.

I am really interested and learning Korean and Japanese, because I am planning on traveling to South Korea and Japan one day and would like to understand people when asking for directions. I am a beginner in Japanese and I know a little Korean but would like to go over everything again. I've always been fascinated with the Japanese culture. I would love to live there one day, soon. I watch many shows on TV which feature Japanese as the main language, but I am limited to reading the English subtitles. I mainly want to learn the language to help me when I move to Japan, but also to enjoy Japanese entertainment here in the states, without the need to endlessly read subtitles. I am a complete beginner. I took karate lessons as a kid and learned numbers 1-10 in Japanese, but that's about it. I would love to dedicate as much time as possible now that I am done with college and have some free time to address any type of academic pursuit. I am looking for a teacher who is paitient and passionate about teaching. I want to learn the language, but also as much about the culture as well. Thanks.
