I would like to resume my Mandarin Chinese study with Mandarin Chinese teacher six hours a wee plus self study time. Between September 2011 and August 2012 I lived in Beijing, China and spent 4 months at a 30 hour a week intensive language program at Beijing Language and Culture University. I also took Mandarin language lessons at Bellevue College and Portland State University intermittentl y between 2008-2010. I would like to start lessons again in January to increase my language skills. I eventually would like to become fluent, I know that will take many years, especially if I do not move back to China in the near future. I have some basic speaking, reading, and writing skills. I would like to build proficiency and professionali m in all areas. I am excited to learn and find Chinese to be a beautiful and important language to know in a deep way. I would calculate that my current skill level is between beginner and intermediate. I look forward to connecting with a Chinese teacher soon:).

I would like to travel to China one day and being able to communicate would be a good thing. The Chinese culture has always fascinated me. This would be my first time trying to learn the language so I would be a beginner. I would like to use as much time recommended by the teacher as possible. The qualities in my teacher I would like to see are creative, effective, and of course friendly.

I wish to learn Mandarin because I feel it is a valuable, often-used language. I most interested in the conversation language. I would like to devote a few hours weekly to learning this language. Of course, I would like an instructor that provides clear instruction and a bit of patience, as I have never spoke Mandarin before.

I am inquiring about mandarin for my children. My daughter is 6 and my son is 4. I strongly believe that at the pace the China is going, the mandarin language will be highly important in the next couple decades. So id like to give my children an advantage by teaching them as soon as possible so that they can be ready for the coming world. I would like info on prices, locations, curriculum, and dates/times.
