Hello,
My daughter is attending a very prestigious private school in Milwuakee and will be a Freshmen for the 2013-1014 school year. I was hoping to get her involved in Chinese, Mandarin lesson over the summer to help her get a head start on the school year. She has had 6 years of Spanish and is looking to learn another language. She took some fun after school lessons in 2nd and 3rd grade but that is all. If you are interested in teaching her I will contact her school and get some course expectations so that you will know what to consintrate on.

1-Why you are learning your foreign language (e.g., career advancement, etc.) ANSWER: I want to learn japanese because a self impose goal to learn either japanese or chinese, my goal is solely base on curiosity and personal growing interest.
2-Your proficiency level (e.g., beginner, etc.). ANSWER: My japanese knowledge is 0, a complete beginner.
3-The areas in which you feel you need particular improvement (e.g., grammar, conversation, etc.), if any.
4-How much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons. ANSWER: It will depends on teacher advise, work load, etc. I would prefer to discuss this with the teacher.
5-What qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher. ANSWER: I'm not very disciplined, therefore I need a teacher capable of keeping me interested, motivated and focused. An enthusiastic and passionate teacher would be great.

I am currently a full-time student with a desire to learn several languages, not only for personal enrichment, but to aid me when I apply for a career in the government. I am a beginner since I have no knowledge of Mandarin yet. I would like to dedicate a reasonable amount of time to learn but that all depends on the cost as well.
I want my lessons to be interactive, informative, and most important lively. I want my teacher to care about my progress and be more than just a teacher...a mentor, possibly a friend.
