I am fluent and prolific in both English and Filipino. Recently, I received news that I will be wroking in Taiwan for a year starting October 2004. It is not required that I learn to speak Chinese. It is a personal choice I made that I want to learn Chinese (Mandarin) so at least I won't be a total stranger in a foreign land. I can spare the early evenings of Tues, Thurs and Sat, and the whole of Sundays, to learn the language. My goal is not to be fluent, just to be somewhat conversant.

I am a single French girl of 23 years old, have studied part of the university in the US. I actually lived in the US for two years, on the East Coast. Then, I moved to Barcelona, Spain in order to learn the language and look for a professional experience over there. This is when I was hired by Bayer. In total, I stayed 2 years in Spain, before they offered me this transfer.
This is my first trip to Asia and am a complete beginner in the language. As I am working the whole day, that would mean taking classes either early in the morning, at lunch, or after work. Basically, I am interested in getting daily living language skills in order to be able to communicate. I like speaking foreign languages and it would defintitely be a career enhancement.
In total, I count 6 hours a week.

I will be in Hangzhou between 30th June and 16th July (I travel there a few times per year). I have a free week and would like to spend 5-7 days learning Mandarin intensively. I have attended some classes in the UK so am not a complete beginner, but very nearly. I am looking for someone who can be available for a whole week and has experience of teaching Mandarin in a structured way. I am a university lecturer.
