Hi, I'm a sophomore in UFL. I'm interested in learning Chinese and have had two Chinese courses (Chinese 101 and 102). However, I feel like I'm having trouble memorizing the Chinese characters, and lack the skills of face-to-face communication . To whom it may concern,
G ood afternoon, how are you? I am a recent college graduate at the University of Houston with a bachelors degree in finance. It has been a professional and a personal goal for me to learn Mandarin . From a professional perspective, I believe it will give me an incredible advantage, specially with China being one of the Worlds largest economies with 1/4 of the worlds population. From a personal perspective, I have longed be intrigued and fascinated by the Chinese culture and would love to be able to interact with people from the Chinese culture in their native language.
At this point my proficiency level is beginner, I have never studied this language before. My only interaction has been with friends who are fluent in the language. I would like to at least participate in one session per week.
The ideal teacher would be one who is passionate about teaching and with whom I would not only learn about the language but also about the culture of its people.
I truly appreciate your assistance and any feedback that you can provide me, will be extremely helpful.

I would like to continue with my Mandarin studies. I lived in Taiwan for 2 years between 2010-2012. I was an English Teacher there and also learned Mandarin (Traditional) for several months at Feng Chia University in Taichung. I recently moved back to Florida this past summer. I'm eager to keep up with my Chinese studies. You may ask, What level am I? Well I guess you could say I'm still at a beginner level (maybe advanced beginner) if there is such a thing. However I certainly know some basic Mandarin from just living in Taiwan. I can read and write a little bit too. Looking for a good teacher.
