I am wanting to learn how to speak mandarin, with the ability to write and read Chinese writings. I would be considered a newbie. But I have a passion for Chinese history, especially the early Han dynasty and later Han dynasty and beyond. I am a full time college student at the moment. But sadly my college does not offer any mandarin classes. I am a very patient person, I have always struggled in language classes in my youth, but I finally want to make my dreams of becoming a Classical Chinese historian come true. My goal is to learn and eventually be fluent in mandarin. And understand that this will take time, and I'm willing to give it my all. I am looking for an instructor who is patient and understanding . I want to start at the basics and work my way up. Since I am a full time student, my available hours will vary. My school work comes first, but I will devote as many hours into learning mandarin as I can.

I am looking for a mandarin teacher for my 17 year old son. He has studied for 6 years in jr. High and high school. We would like him to continue his study but feel he would get more from a tutor who could work one on one and mostly with conversation. We would like him to attend a tutor two times a week.
