I have always had a great interest in the Japanese language and I hope to spend some time living in Japan in the future. I would probably classify myself as a beginner; I know hiragana somewhat well (katakana less so) and some vocabulary. I need improvement in grammar and vocabulary. I am able to dedicate a good deal of time to studying on my own and would most likely be interested in once-weekly lessons.

Learning Japanese to improve communication s with my wife. She is a native of Okinawa, and speaks good english but we both want to improve and be fluent in both languages. I have studied for 2 years in Okinawa at the University of Maryland...ta king all the offered Japanese classes but am not fluent. I can read some, and can speak some basic sentences and phrases but will need to review. I want to spend about 2 hours a week and study mostly conversationa l Japanese. Looking for a teacher who is easy to relate with, organized, and offer intense, accelerated, one on one conversationa l Japanese lessons. My goal is to review and be speaking better than I did years ago in Okinawa...by the end of the year. Thanks!
