I am a complete beginner in Mandarin. I am fascinated by anything Chinese and have always wanted to learn the language in order to better understand the culture. Sadly I don't seem to get on too well with the audio book I have at the moment and despite awaiting another one (and grammar books!) I believe they are only aids to learning. What I really need is a teacher! Timewise, I am looking to spend about two to three hours per week learning the language with a patient teacher. Normally I pick up languages fairly easily but Mandarin is so different that help will be needed!
I am free most evenings, the occasional Saturday and every Sunday afternoon. Travel isn't a problem either, within reason!
