I would like to be able to read, write and converse in 'basic' Japanese within the following 4-5 months.
I am hoping to build a foundation that would allow me to improve further my communication skills in the language, in the years ahead.

I want to learn the language to broaden my mind. I'm already fluent in English. I grew up in a Polish speaking household. I also took 4 years of German in high school. I have a love of languages, which is why I would like to be fluent/conver sational in 5 languages by the age of 30/32. I also want to travel and/or live abroad.
I' d like to dedicate as much time as I have free to the language.
I would like to learn the language from the ground up: speech, reading, writing. Usage of books/materia ls is plus.
I need a teacher who is patient, funny, and has the ability to create a conducive learning environment.

I am a complete beginner.
I wish to learn as my son has lived and worked in Japan now for 18 months and as he plans to stay there for at least another three years I will be visitng him again next year.
For now, I only wish to learn conversationa l Japanese. I am very busy so can only dedicate about three hours a week. With more time for personal one to ones at weekends.
Qualities I am looking for in my Teacher are good English skills as we must be able to understand each other, and Patience!

Learning Japanese has always been an interest for me, but there is no chance for me to do so as I have been moving around.
