I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese as I am interested in China and want to live there one day. I am a complete beginner and so I am looking for a patient teacher to guide me.
I would like to have one lesson a week with a teacher in the Manchester or Liverpool areas.
I do speak a little Japanese, as I lived in Japan while working as an English Instructor. I want to continue to learn Japanese so that I can communicate with my Japanese friends.
I am looking for patient teachers and affordable lessons. In return I can also offer support with academic English - I received my PhD in Sociology in 2006.

I am currently a beginner in the language, though I do know like three or four solid words.
I am wanting to learn japanese for my own personal use, career advancement and it will be helpful when I plan to go to Japan in the near future.
I need improvement in all areas.
Since I work about 4-5 days a week right now, I'll dedicate about 10+ hrs to learning each week.
I am looking for a teacher who can speaks both English and Japanese and can teach me the language in a fun way. I know I've been in language classes where I don't learn a thing because the teacher was boring, so I do not want that.

I have many friends who are Japanese and I speak to them in Japanese sometimes, but I would like to have a better command of the language. My name is Simon and I am looking for someone to help me practice Japanese. I have lived in Japan for approximately 2 years and studied Japanese as a major at university, so I can speak, read and write with a degree of fluency.
I am hoping to work in Japan again (maybe 2009) and would like to have some regular practice in business and conversationa l Japanese first.
