    Teaching Approach

During my classes I identify the goals students seek by learning Russian language. I give every one of them an opportunity to participate in all of the class acitivities.
Some people are shy by nature and will not raise their hands to speak in the class. In my class everybody gets an equal opportunity. I always value my students' opinion and take into consideration their input, suggestions and feedback.

    Program Description

I build my classes based on gradual knowledge increase. First, we learn nouns, then - adjectives, then build simple phrases using those two. Then we learn verbs and start building simple sentences. Then we start picking up one case after another, tenses, pronouns, proverbs, etc.

Durin g my Russian classes I have a little "video session" where we watch a Russian video, try to identify new words, learn new ones, etc. Conversationa l minutes are also an integral part of of each lesson.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Teaching schedule.

My schedule is very flexible considering that majority of my students work Monday through Friday. Usually, classes are held evenings during a week, however weekends are also available. I strongly recommend to have a class AT LEAST twice a week. Once-a-week classes proved to give much smaller and weaker results than more frequently met classes; especially at the early stages of studying a foreign language.

    Payment policy.

Fe es are collected in the form of cash or a check at the beginning of the class. Students prepay for several classes ahead. More questions can be answered upon contacting me.

    ***
These are the questions I usually ask my prospective students:

Why do you want to learn Russian?
Stu dent's occupation, schedule and availability.
Do you have any knowledge of Russian (ability to read, to write, to speak, etc)?
How much time can invest in your Russian studies?
Are you going to attend class alone or with someone else?
Do you have someone to practice Russian with?

It has been a fascinating experience to find out the reasons my students had chosen to take Russian classes. Some were in the process of adapting a Russian speaking child, some were waiting for their Russian speaking brides to arrive, others had Russian speaking spouse/boyfri ends/girlfrien ds, etc. Other reasons included: a desire to read Russian classic literature in the original language, communicating with Russian speaking pen-friends, an approaching business trip to Russia or other republics of the former USSR, established business contacts with Kazakhstan, retracing the steps of Russian ancestors, etc., etc., etc.

    Cost of Lessons

My class's fees depend on the meeting frequency, intensity, input, class load, etc. It depends also on the distance (if I have to drive to a student's place) and the number of students I am going to teach.

The average fee is $20 for 45 min session
