I have written my own material for conversationa l which would be used for all adult learners. Young learners will have a separate material which follows Ministry of Education, Thailand.
There will also be other media to be employed during lesson to ensure maximum exposure to the language.

Learn Thai in Singapore

Basic - Conversationa l Thai
There are 4 levels:-
Lev el 1 (Beginner) – Basic greeting, vocabulary, simple sentence structures, different situations/sc enarios, probably just enough for a holiday.
Lev el 2/3 (Upper-beginn er) – Complex sentences, more listening media will be employed to ensure students’ exposure to various accents.
Les son 4 (Intermediate ) – Students will practice more on speaking after learning most of the rules/grammar , also they will be given topics to discuss with the teacher.
I ntermediate - Writing Thai
5 textbooks are specially created to facilitate simplified approaches in learning Thai scripts.
I f you are interested, it is recommended to take up Writing Thai after completing at least level 3 of Conversationa l Thai. That is to say, it is possible to do Level 4 Conversation together with Writing Thai.
Adva nced - Reading Thai
2 specially compiled storybooks will be used to ensure student's exposure to various types of texts. This level is created to enhance student’s exposure to Thai reading. Texts include extracts from internet such as forums, news, and articles or even song lyrics.

Typically for someone who is totally new to the language, you should take around 10 – 15 lessons of duration from 1hr to 1.5hrs each level/book for speaking, and duration varies for writing. Everybody learns at different pace; hence you could take slightly shorter, or slightly longer, we will discover along the way.

Just so that you have some rough ideas, in general a student would need at least 12 months of continuous practice in order to speak standard Thai. Fluent or not, that depends on the effort of each and every student. And another 12 months are estimated for writing Thai. I would recommend a student to be able to converse comfortably in Thai before attempting writing Thai.

Teaching Experience

I am a Thai and I live in Singapore since 2001. I have been conducting private tuition (basic/interm ediate/advance /writing Thai) as well as group lessons (3 - 16 students) since 2007. I structure my lessons according to students' requirements, hence smaller groups or private tuition tend to be more effective. Most of my students are working adults.
I enjoy teaching as I find satisfaction in educating students.
I believe learning language require push factor:- work and passion. If you need to acquire a new language due to work/business requirement, you would be most likely to work hard for it. On the other hands, if the need to learn language comes from pure passion, you would also be likely to make an effort on learning. Speaking from my own experience as a language lover, I am not only a tutor, but also a student – currently learning French for more than 5 years.
It is never too late to learn something new. :)

Cost of Lessons

From $45 per 1 hour, depending on the location.
2) Group lesson, rates per person (at my preferred location) are as followed:
2 pax: S$450/10 sessions/1.5 hrs
3 pax: S$400/10 sessions/1.5 hrs

Price excludes books for each level.
