I would like to start to learn Mandarin. My main reason is that my future family in law is chinese and I want to communicate with them.
I am beginner and I know nothing in Mandarin but I would like to focus in conversation and reading. I am available only week end because I am always in travel during the week.

I want to learn other languages in preparation for my future. Right now I'm taking up Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and currently in second year, I figured that since computers are of great usage now and will be at the future. I am expecting that I will be learning would be of great use for me in the future. I am willing to devote myself in learning foreign language at most 5 hours a day or during my vacant time. I have learned a couple of words in the language I chose to learn, but I would to start from the very beginning as to be likened to a nursery class wherein names are first introduced, then numbers and slowly being laddered to words and phrases.

I am interested in a teacher that can work with my whole family - four of us ranging from ages 9 to 40. We need someone who is patient. None of us have studied Mandarin before but my husband has travelled to China and Asia and is probably more familiar with customs and sounds. I think most of us would like to learn conversationa l language with customs education and some writing.
D epending on cost, I would like to have 1- 2 hour lessons a week beginning in August, 2010. We are in the South Charlotte, NC area.
