My name is Arden Tyoschina and I am a Canadian who grew up in Calgary and graduated from U of C. Nine years ago, my family and I moved to China and we currently live in Nanjing.
We have 2 boys - twins - who are currently in Grade 5. They spent 3 years of Kindergarten and Grade 1 in local Chinese school, and in Grade 2 we moved them to the international school, as they had little English beyond what we spoke at home.
Since then, it has been a struggle for them to maintain their written and more formal Chinese at a near-native level. This summer we will be visiting my parents in Calgary, and I am hoping to find a Chinese tutor for them.
