I studied Swahili for two years at SOAS university in London and since leaving feel I need to practice my language skills regularly, so that I do not lose my ability.
I would assess my standard as intermediate, though as I have been out of practice my conversation skills are weak. I visit Kenya every year and use my Swahili when I am there; my father is from there originally and speaks Swahili fluently. I am also very interested in the culture of Swahili speaking countries and studied African culture and politics at university.
I would be keen to have tuition for two hours a week at first, with additional homework tasks to hand in to my tutor.
I live in Victoria, London, and would be happy to meet my teacher anywhere in central London, or at my home.
