I was recently a volunteer in Moshi Tanzania. I plan to run some training courses there next year for carers employed to look after disabled children. I wish to learn Kiswahili so I can directly communicate with the staff and other carers rather than always be relying on a translator.
I am at beginner level only.
Ideally I would like to meet with a kiswahili teacher somewhere in Adelaide, South Australia a a view to regular weekly lessons (with homework to do between).
Id eally the teacher would have a sense of humour and be patient with a slow learner!

I am a retired special needs teacher from the UK, currently living with family in Ridgeways, Nairobi. I am currently working voluntarily with an organisation that supports projects for children with special needs. Most of the mothers and children I meet in these projects do not speak English well and I would like to be able to converse with them in Swahili. I would like to be able to have lessons for one or two hours per week, preferably in a location near to where I live, as transport is a difficulty for my household.
