I don't know any Portuguese, but i want to take lessons. Taking foreign language classes in college is difficult to schedule, therefore I'm searching for alternatives. At this point in time, I would like to schedule a minimum of 1 - one hour class per week. However, I'd like the option to increase or decrease that number if needed. One of the primary qualities I am looking for in my teacher is experience. I'd also like the lessons (structure and lesson content) to be similar to a regular class.

My proficiency is nil. I have some basic CD disks. I was in Brazil this July, in Sao Paolo and Brasilia. I will be going to Brazil frequently in the future and speaking with various folks in Brazil and need to be fluent. I would like to dedicate two classes per week, for about two hours per period. I live on the northwest side of Chicago and am willing to travel within that general area within the city proper. I need a structured program that will eventually make me very proficient.
