My husband and I have been learning European Portuguese at an adult education centre for three years, and have achieved a very basic level of competence, as we found the courses too short with very long gaps in between. The course is no longer running due to lack of student numbers. We hope to retire in about three years time, and would then like to live in Portugal. We would like to achieve a good standard of everyday conversation, with an ability to understand some Portuguese TV and read local newspapers. We would like to spend about 2 hours a week having lessons, and have some additional study work set to complete at home each week. We do not want a Brazilian teacher, as we had one for one term and found this very confusing.

A group of approximately 10 to 15 older people will travel to Brazil for one month for pleasure and would like to enquire about taking group lessons to be able to understand some simple phrases, pronounce the written words and have a basic travel vocabulary. We will travel at the end of February, 2007. We prefer a Brazilian teacher- for cultural understanding .
