I am interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese because I plan to move there within the next 6 months. I speak some French and a little German. Would prefer a classroom environment; however, would also consider one-on-one instruction from a native speaker. I cannot speak a word of Portuguese but am a fast learned and have an ear for languages. My goal is to be able to speak the language...co nversation. Don't care if I can read or write fluently. I am retired so have ample time to devote. I'm looking for a native Brazilian Portuguese instuctor in the Las Vegas area.

I studied abroad in Brazil for six months in 2006, and now, four years later, have forgotten how to speak proper Portuguese. I recently made a few Brazilian friends and could barely communicate!
I would like to regain my previous level of Portuguese, which was high-intermed iate/advanced. My grammar is generally OK, and I can read a novel just fine, but my conversation and pronounciatio n are pretty weak and I need to be reminded of vocabulary about 25% of the time.
I hope to take a 1.5 hour lesson per week at a coffee shop or cafe, preferably in the evening (M-Sat) or on Sunday afternoon. I'm willing to pay about 3,500 yen per lesson and negotiate transportatio n.
As far as a teacher goes, I am quite flexible. I just need a good blend of focused practice and free conversation to get back to where I was.
