Hello,
I am a first generation Canadian. My family is all Portuguese speaking and Portuguese was my first language, but over time and with lack of usage, I have lost the ability to speak well and comprehend most Portuguese. I am hoping to re-learn the language because I will be completing a Master's degree that involves interaction with the Portuguese speaking community. I would like to learn mostly conversationa l Portuguese but also particular emphasis on religion and mortuary practices since this is what my thesis is centered on; most of my conversations will center around those topics. I'd like my teacher to be knowledgable, fluent and patient!

Hello-
I will be in Lisbon for a number of months. While there, I would like to learn Portguese. Learning a language while living in another country is easier, more fun, and provides more insight into the local culture.
I am a complete beginner, although I speak Spanish very well and I find that helps me understand spoken and written Portuguese.
I would like to have at least three lessons per week, one hour each. Possibly more lessons in the beginning to give me a head start.
