I am seeking to attend a week long intensive course of Mandarin classes in Shanghai to gain a basic level of proficiency, or 'survival dialogue', for travelling through China. I had previously studied Mandarin for a year at the University of Technology Sydney, am able to use about 1,000 words, and have a basic understanding of Cantonese.
