Hi, my name is Ben Jones and I am an English teacher in Harbin. I need a proper Chinese teacher to help me continue to learn my Chinese Mandarin. I am learning words on my own regularly, but still need a teacher to help me maintain a good level of grammar/sente nce structure etc. Have had 'proper' lessons for 6 weeks now, but even before then I had learnt enough conversation to communicate with taxi drivers, shop assistants for example. I still want to improve though and I need a teacher from this website to continue to help me, as my previous teacher is leaving Harbin.
I would like one lesson a week, for about an hour, and I need to improve my listening, conversation and grammar.I can learn words on my own I think. I am planning on staying in China for a few more years and want to speak the language to a good level. I want a teacher to teach me at my home/school, it is not difficult to find. I hope to hear back from the teachers soon.

I have used tapes to learn the language but so far no retention. I have attended a university in China with rehearsal of PinYing. I have a difficulty with memorizing characters and would like to ignore characters for now.

I'm interested in learning spoken mandarin. I've lived in China for 6 months, but have not been studying the language so I'm still very much at beginner level. I'm hoping to learn some 'survival'/pr actical mandarin and basic conversationa l skills.
I would like to meet with the tutor 2x2 hours/week and classes must be held after 6 p.m. The tutor should have the following qualification s:
1. Previous experience of teaching chinese to foreigners
2 . Good planner, suggesting appropriate curriculum
3 . Structured
4 . Patient
5. Adaptable with regards to the progresses being made
