Hello, my family has very recently moved to China to follow my husbands work. We are based in Tianjin, we will live in China for a minimum of 3 years. My son attends a local international school and will have classes in the Chinese Mandarin language.
I am at the beginner (very beginner) level and I have chosen to learn the Chinese Mandarin language for several reasons
(i) Conversationa l Chinese Mandarin is necessary to me to function in the local community (shopping, working etc).
(ii) It will help me support my son learning the language (iii) When I have settled into Tianjin I would like to look for part-time work and will therefore need the Chinese Mandarin language.
In a teacher I would like someone who has a sense of humour in their learning however is structured and can produce a planned programme which will be followed.

I will stay in Chongqing until the 1 October 2006. I want to use the time to improve my mandarin, therefore I am looking for somebody to teach me two times per week. Could you please ask your students who study English if one of them wants to teach me? I will pay 30-40 RMB per hour. The requirements for the job are:
1. The person must speak English very well
2. The person must be familiar with pinyin (I only learn pinyin, NO Chinese characters)
3. The person must be able to come to my hotel to teach me here

I have lived in China for 2 years mostly working, though studied 1 semester at yu yan xue yuan. My level is basic and fine for general social conversations .
I am looking for 1-2 hours a day each week day (early morning or evening) private tutoring to learn general chinese and chinese relevant to my job. Tutor could come to place of work (early mornings) or where I live (near chang'an lu and second ring road south). Require vocabulary improvement as well as general practise and grammar skills.
I' m looking for a teacher who can sit and discuss various topics with me in chinese; teaching new words as we discuss each topic, and correcting my chinese. No real teaching experience required, just native chinese and some patience!
