I'd like to learn Spanish for travel purposes, because I may be interested in studying in a field that may require Spanish for school, and because I just think it would be a worthwhile language to know.
I'm a beginning, I have little experience in the language, other than knowing a few words and phrases.
Room for improvement? I think pretty much everywhere.
I'd like to do one, one hour lesson a week. I'd prefer sitting down with a teacher, I feel I learn more effectively this way.

Hello,
This last spring I had the opportunity to visit Japan. I would like to go back for an extended period of time next time. I should have studied the language first before going, but for next time I will be more prepared.
My Goals: I would like to become proficient and then fluent in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and writing the language. I need practice and I need a bit of direction since on this language I have been using books and CD's to study it since coming back.
My Background: I am very interested in languages and alphabets, with Japanese I will get to cover both of those interests. I learned English as a very young child to which it should be called my native language because of the level of proficiency, my German is very basic and I am not very good at it at all. I am fluent in Spanish which I learned as an adult while living in Central America from 1990 till 92, as such I have a good grasp of most of the Romance languages and would like to branch out into non Indo European now.

I will be traveling around Chile for two months starting in January and feel it would be a big advantage to have some conversation skills. Currently I speak no Spanish but am very eager to learn. My work schedule is five on five off so i would be hoping to get about three hours of lessons during my days off. I am hoping to start as soon as possible.
