I am an Egyptian living in Toronto, Canada. For over ten years, I have wanted to learn Russian. I finally want to do something about it. I would like to find a Russian teacher who would agree to do video chats with me at least once or twice a week. He or she should also be able to recommend textbooks and grammars. I am currently learning basic Russian in university with the goal to eventually become fluent in the language. I plan to travel to St.Petersburg in the summer of 2014 for a Russian intensive program however I want to be reasonably comfortable with the language, especially in conversation, before I leave. I am looking for a teacher/tutor to work with me this year from around April to August so I can improve my understanding of Russian before I return to school. Thanks!

I am at absolute beginner's level Russian. I bought a book to learn Russian but thought it would be more enriching to be able to speak and learn from a native or non-native Russian speaker. I am learning Russian for fun, though I am serious about it. I always found it an interesting and beautiful language and would like to be able to communicate and understand it. I need to improve everything, being at absolute beginner's level and would be able to dedicate 2-3 hours per week during the months July to August. I am looking for lessons that are able to wholly teach me reading, writing and conversationa l skills, as well as bring an awareness to the Russian culture and way of thinking/comm unicating. Ideally then, a native Russian speaker or someone who has spent an extended period of time in Russia > 1 year, would be appropriate.

I have to move to Kazakhstan in 3 years from now.
I studied Russian from grade 4 to grade 8 in elementary school, so I do have a basis that I forgot.
I want to be able to communicate in Russian in every day life.
