I travel to Japan often but have difficulty getting around because of the language barrier. I would like to improve my Japanese skills so I may be able to read signs easily and converse properly with locals, and I would like to be able to work in Japan someday.
I took a beginner Japanese course in College. I know very basic words and terms, I learned Hiragana and Katakana and a few Kanji, however I am very rusty at remembering the characters, and I learned the sentence structure.
I have an erratic schedule since I am a flight attendant, however, I would like to learn as much as I can, I would like to do 2 hour lessons as often as I can.
I would like a tutor that is flexible because of my schedule, lets me use material in Hiragana and Katakana rather than Romaji, I would like a teacher who not only teaches language but teaches meanings or history behind words, terms or symbols.

I want to learn Japanese because my dream is to study in Japan. I want to speak it fluently and well enough so people in Japan can understand what I'm saying. I need improvement in the Japanese symbols and putting the words in a sentence. The qualities I'm looking for in a teacher is that he/she will teach me slowly and will tolerate my speed. I'm a slow learner and deserve some time to get things registered in my mind. I will dedicate as much as 2-3 hours a day in my lessons. 1 hour is fine.
