The primary reason that I am learning Japanese is because I plan to retire from the navy and live here permanently. This means that I will need to learn conversationa l and business Japanese as well as kanji. I am fully committed and eager to learn. I am also in college for my BA so my schedule is pretty hectic, but I will still be trying to dedicate at least one hour of study to Japanese each day. Concerning my level, that is a bit tricky. I have never had a assesment of my level so it hard to determine. I have a basic vocabulary, to include numbers, money, counters, wa and ga. I am lacking in verb usage. I have a proficient use of hiragana and katakana (I read books to my daughters every night) but my kanji is at the kinder level.

I've been here in Japan for almost a year now and I really want to learn the language, mostly because I want to stay in japan.
I am a beginner, I know a few japanese words. However I really want to learn to speak, write and read the japanese language.
I' m in the U.S. Navy so while in port I work all day, and I can be deployed at a moments noticed and be gone for some time. I'm looking for someone who can not only teach me the language, but can also be patient with me because I have a hard time remembering a lot of things, especially a lot at once. I get paid twice a month, and I am flexable with scheduling. When I am deployed, the only way to reach me is be email and at certain times. I look forward to hearing from someone.

Hello,
I'm currently studying Japanese on my own but it is difficult. I would like to begin studying with a teacher so that i may be able to speak fluently with my Japanese friends.
M y ultimate goal is to take the JLPT and live in Japan as a citizen. I am currently living in Kanagawa for work.
