I would like to learn Ukrainian. I have taken Russian in university, and I have lived in Ukraine in the past, and did ok speaking with people. However, I have not used Russian at all in several years. I can still read Russian and Ukrainian but my grammar and vocabulary are very poor. I choose Ukrainian because I have relative that live in the west, and Russian is not favored, especially these days. I would like to be able to converse freely during every day events.

I have a background already in Russian, My goal is to gain fluency to a point where I can take exams for college, and not need to take 3 more semesters worth of studies. I can read, I know some vocabulary, my grammar is terrible to the point of being non existent.

I am barely a beginner, altough I have spent a little time in Arabic and kiswahili speaking regions. I wish to learn for my own enjoyment. I hope to travel more in East Africa, possibly in North Africa. I would like to spend some time in an immersian program in the near future. I would hope to spend one or more classes per week with an instructor in my home area as a beginning. I would spend several hours per week studying and would hope to find opportunities to practice speaking with someone near my home as well. I need some structure in the form of assignments, I don't consider myself a organized person.
