Hello i am a beginner of mandarin chinese. I have taken about 2 months of college chinese 101. I am retaking this class this semester and i am in need of a refresher course. I need improvement on symbol writting and understanding . I am looking to put as much time as needed. I am primarily looking for a tutor in the US to help with Japanese reading, pronunciation , and conversation, but would love to hear from tutors of Mandarin, Cantonese, and Vietnamese as well.
I am a highly self-motivate d language learner seeking individual and/or group instruction in any of the following languages: Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, and Vietnamese. I have completed a degree in East Asian Languages and Cultures which included four years of intensive Mandarin Chinese study. I plan to live in China next summer and would like to gain fluency in verbal and written Mandarin. I am at the beginning level in Japanese, Cantonese, and Vietnamese, all of which I have studied previously with the aid of books and tapes.

I am a complete beginner in Chinese. I travel to China at least once per year (ostensibly to play golf, but plan to travel further afield), and would like to become comfortable in the language. I have found that CD language programs can only go so far, and would like to obtain the services of a personal tutor. I am retired (young), and so have the time and resources to apply to my study of the language. I am looking for a personable teacher, who can make learning interesting while keeping me on track and providing the conversationa l and structural needs so essential to the learning process. I tend to be fairly aggressive in my learning curve, and can usually apply myself quite diligently.
