Description |
I am learning German for a few reasons, it's a very interesting language and history and am planning on going on a trip there in 2024. I am not a complete novice but can speak, at a slow pace, about my life and hobbies, etc. I do not plan on learning how to write German, only speaking it, but I'm still a long way from fluent. I would be willing to have anywhere from one hour a week, up to seven (when time permits). I am a dedicated learner and will take the information seriously. I believe the only way to learn something, is to do it. I didn't learn English by remembering all the rules and having them cemented into my brain, so i don't want that with my second language, also. I'd like to pick it up as naturally as possible.

Hello, I'm very keen on moving to the Netherlands someday due to certain cultural factors(the straightforwa rdneess, pragmaticism, low context, etc) and a general high standard of living. I might apply for studentvisa when I have the change and done quite a bit of research on Dutch universities, and my Dad is possibly planning to apply for a workvisa. I've only started to initiate my Dutch learning, and I think I'm doing well and improving in most areas, though pronounciatio n and accent is still the biggest hastle even though I've done quite extensive research on phonology, even before I started learning the language, have consistently listened for at 3 hours a day, used audacity to compare audio with native speakers, etc it's key to get largely thoroughed out and have a good foundation in area from start, and key to remove bad habits swiftly or that's what I at leastly heard from Gabriel Wyner's book fluent forever, and large amount of sources even a reddit post made by a certified accent coach(Note I'm in no way trying to get a perfect accent just good maybe great one). This currently the reason why I'm seeking out multiple tutors; I'll definitely appreciate anyone whose willing to take in the time and effort to do the extensive corrections and observant advice on what I should work on which would definitely be thanked and appreciated once again on my path to fluency look forward to meeting you.

Description |
Fifty years ago, I taught high school math and science in Nepali for two years. When I was leaving, I tested at level 4 on the 0 - 5 scale (5 is high) used by the US Foreign Service Institute. I am planning to visit Nepal in about half a year, so I want to review vernacular and formal conversationa l Nepali.
My initial objective is to regain fluency in vocabulary and grammatical structures I have forgotten and get up-to-date on changes in the past 50 years. I would like three one hour video or audio classes per week, but I may increase that at times. I am retired, so my schedule is fairly flexible. Classes will be a complemented by self-study.
While visiting Nepal, I will be in a wide range of situations including trekking into Limbu and Bhotia-popula ted regions, catching up on news with people I haven’t seen in 50 years, and being a guest of honor in somewhat formal social events with teachers and government officials.
I am flexible, but the ideal teacher would: Be very familiar with the dialect spoken in the vicinity of Sankhuwasabha Jilla, or at least Pradesh #1. Be able to provide linguistics-b ased technical answers to questions about the language Not hesitate to correct my pronunciation , grammar, or style, and—if needed—develo p drills to help me improve
